LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – This Sunday, the local United Methodist Churches will continue with the second in a three-part series asking, “God, Are You There?”

We began with the beautiful Psalm 23:1-3 , “You Restore my Soul,” This Psalm of David is often referred to as just “The Lord is My Shepherd,” possibly the most quoted psalm in the Bible.

This Sunday we will focus on Psalm 23:4, “You Are with Me.” Note, it is not a question, but a pondering. The question is, “How can we let it happen?”

This is not a psalm for the dead; it is for us, the living. It is a place we can walk and talk side by side with the Lord. That place in our soul that can regain peace and strength as we navigate this life.

Join us as we discuss exactly how powerful God’s love, peace, strength, and victory are, and how that grace is available to each of us.

For that get-up-early place to worship, join our Potter Valley United Methodist Church, 10075 Main Street, Potter Valley, at 9 a.m.

Join Clearlake Oaks UMC, 12487 The Plaza, at noon.

For an afternoon service join with us at Clearlake UMC, 14521 Pearl Avenue at 2 p.m.

We welcome all to come for a visit to one of our churches as we continue our three-part series, “God, Are You There?”

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – This Sunday, we will begin a three-part series entitled, “God, Are You There?”

We begin with the beautiful Psalm 23:1-3, “You Restore my Soul.” This psalm of David is possibly the most quoted psalm in the Bible.

David, a man of many experiences, is always presented to us as a true worshipper of God, a man possessing the Holy Spirit (I Sam. 16-13).

This is not a psalm for the dead; it is for you, the living. It is a place you can walk and talk side by side with the Lord. That place in your soul that can regain peace and strength as you navigate this life.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Kathleen Bradley will be guest speaker at the Clearlake Oaks United Methodist Church, 12487 The Plaza, at noon on Sunday, May 27.

Many in the community know Kathleen Bradley, Licensed Psychiatric Technician, from Hospice Services of Lake County.

Born and raised in Apple Valley, she has been a resident of Cobb for 20 years and worked for 12 years for Lake County Behavioral Health as a nurse, case manager.

Bradley will share with us how scripture has helped channel her life into what hospice stands for which is hope, compassion and life.

As she speaks of “Thank You God for a Plan,” she will reflect on her chosen scripture from Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version), “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

We invite all in the community, many of whom have benefited personally from her work and the work of hospice, to come and share this time with Bradley and our congregation.

For that get-up-early place to worship, join our Potter Valley United Methodist Church, 10075 Main Street, Potter Valley, at 9 a.m.

For an afternoon service join our Clearlake congregation, 14521 Pearl Ave. at 2 p.m.
