NORTH COAST, Calif. — Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around the North Coast during the coming week.
Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters, as well as work in Del Norte and Humboldt counties.
Caltrans advises motorists to drive with caution when approaching work areas and to be prepared to stop at traffic control stations.
The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes unless noted otherwise.

LAKE COUNTY
Highway 20
Route 20 (1.1) – Utility work near Blue Lakes Road will occur on Thursday, May 1. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P20AA
Route 20 (28/29.3) – Utility work will occur in Clearlake Oaks from Oakgrove Avenue to Orchard Shore Drive on Wednesday, April 30. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P20AA

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. — The Konocti Women’s Service Club for the 2024-25 school year has donated approximately $14,000 in school supplies to many schools around the lake in Lake County.
The schools included were eight elementary schools, one middle school, and Lakeport Unified School District’s Student/Family Advocate Program and Konocti Unified School District’s Family/Student Center in Lower Lake.
Among the purchased donations were various school supplies, sporting equipment, art supplies, backpacks, bicycles and helmets, pedometers and clothing.
Also included were gift cards for several Boyle Fire family victims.
The Konocti Women’s Service Club is able to help the community through fundraisers each year.
The club’s next big fundraiser, “A Night at the Oscars,” will be held on Sept. 13 at Konocti Vista Casino’s showroom. Tickets are $100 each and will go on sale June 1. Stay tuned for additional information regarding the ticket sales.
The Konocti Women’s Service Club is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization. Their spirit and love for children is what inspires them to donate every dollar they raise to the children in need in Lake County. Their motto continues to be “For Kid’s Sake.”
The club meets monthly on the third Thursday at the Riviera Hills Restaurant in Kelseyville Riviera from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Clearlake Bassmasters and the Lake County Sheriff’s Activities League will offer a free fishing clinic for students ages 6 to 18.
Eighteen year olds must still be in high school to participate.
There are just 20 slots available for this fun activity so register early.
The clinic will be held on Saturday, May 17, at Library Park on Park Street in Lakeport from 9 a.m. to noon with a hot dog feed at the end of the session.
The activity will take place in two parts.
At 9 a.m. the Bassmaster volunteers will provide instruction on a variety of fishing skills and techniques.
Part two of the day involves supervised fishing from the pier. All equipment and supplies are provided including life vests for those fishing from the pier. If your student is 16 to 18 years old, they must acquire a fishing license before the clinic and bring it with them in order to fish from the pier.
Beginning April 15, you may register your child by contacting and speaking directly to Lake County Sheriff’s Activities League Board Member Terry Norton at 707-349-4432. Signing up online is not possible.
The registration deadline is May 10th. Board member Mary Borjon, 707-279-1050, will handle registration from May 8 through May 10.
Registering your child reserves a space specifically for your child. Please ensure that your child attends.
After signing up, you will receive a follow up letter with important information and participation requirements.
