LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The California State Park and Recreation Commission invites the community to join it this week as it tours Clear Lake State Park.
The tour will take place beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the park, located at 5300 Soda Bay Road in Kelseyville.
Officials said the tour is in preparation for a general plan update for the park that will be considered by the commission in 2027.
State Parks held stakeholder and community outreach meetings from June 2024 to July of 2025 to gather input on the plan, which is expected to be in draft form through the fall of this year.
The agency will then develop a draft environmental impact report, or EIR, by the end of this year, with a final EIR to be completed by the spring of 2027.
The park’s final general plan is expected to be completed by summer 2027 or later that year, State Parks reported.
The day after the tour — Thursday, March 5 — the commission will hold its first meeting of the year at the Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Building, 1351 Maple Ave.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m.
The full agenda and information for attending the meeting in person or joining the meeting virtually is available here.
State Parks reported that the commission will elect its new chair and vice chair, hear budget and real property reports, get an update on the Recreational Trails Plan and the California Trails Survey, and review memorial grove resolutions.
Those who wish to join the tour are asked to RSVP here so that an estimated attendance can be recorded.
Prior to arrival, visitors with disabilities who need assistance should contact California State Parks at 916-902-8651.
