Supervisors to declare National Agriculture Week, get resource district and Fire Safe Council reports

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Board of Supervisors this week will honor agriculture and get reports on a conservation district and Fire Safe council.

The‌ ‌board will meet beginning ‌at‌ ‌9‌ ‌a.m. Tuesday, March 17, in the board chambers on the first floor of the Lake County Courthouse, 255 N. Forbes St., Lakeport.

At 9:05 a.m., the board will present a proclamation designating the week of March 15 to 21, 2026, as National Agriculture Week in Lake County.

That will be followed at 9:15 a.m., when the board will get an update on the 2024-25 annual report and activities of the Lake County Resource Conservation District and the Lake County Fire Safe Council.

At 9:30 a.m., the board also will be updated on the Lake County Community Risk Reduction Authority’s work last year.

CONSENT AGENDA

5.1: Adopt a proclamation designating the week of March 15 to 21, 2026, as National Agriculture Week in Lake County.

5.2: Adopt a memorandum of understanding with the Golden State Finance Authority to provide cost reimbursement for participation in a regional jail medical care feasibility study focused on evaluating long-term, sustainable alternatives for jail medical service delivery, and authorize the chair to sign.

5.3: Approve the agreement between the county of Lake and North Valley Behavioral Health LLC for the provision of acute inpatient psychiatric hospital services and associated professional services for fiscal year 2025-2026, in an amount not to exceed $500,000, and authorize the board chair to sign.

5.4: Approve Amendment No. 1 to the memorandum of understanding between the Lake County Community Foundation and Lake County Continuum of Care to clarify administrative, fiscal and governance provisions, and authorize the chair to sign.

5.5: Approve agreement between the county of Lake and Catholic Charities of Northwest California for homelessness prevention and diversion services, in an amount not to exceed $400,000, for the term commencing upon issuance of a letter of intent authorizing services through June 30, 2027, and authorize the chair to sign the agreement.

5.6: Approve a resolution of the board of trustees of the Mendocino-Lake Community College District ordering an election, placing the “Mendocino College Career Training/Affordable Education Measure” on the June 2, 2026, ballot for local voter consideration, and establishing specifications of the election order.

5.7: Approve a resolution of the governing board of the Lakeport Unified School District ordering an election to authorize the issuance of general obligation bonds, establishing specifications of the election order and requesting consolidation with other elections occurring June 2, 2026.

5.8: Approve Board of Supervisors meeting minutes for Feb. 10, 2026.

5.9: Approve travel exceeding 1,500 miles to send Jaemi Nunn to represent the Victim-Witness Office at the Northern California Coalition to Safeguard Communities human trafficking training in Decatur, Illinois.

5.10: a) Adopt a resolution accepting $186,223.41 from the Karen L. Marino Revocable Trust to be used for Mt. Konocti Park for planning and development of new trails and trail improvements; and b) Authorize the public services director to sign the waiver of objections to accounting form and the consent to proposed distribution form.

5.11: Adopt the revised governing body resolution for Agreement No. BSCC 1527-25 by and between the Board of State and Community Corrections and the county of Lake.

5.12: a) Approve the transfer and sale of 20 Remington 870 shotguns from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office to the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office; b) approve acceptance of payment totaling $4,000 in accordance with the interagency agreement; and c) approve removal of the firearms from the County of Lake capitalized fixed asset listing.

5.13: a) Approve letter of agreement between the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration of the U.S. Department of Justice in the amount of $105,000 for the period Oct. 1, 2025, to Sept. 30, 2026; b) authorize the sheriff to sign the agreement; and c) authorize the chairman to sign workplace certifications and grant assurances.

5.14 (Sitting as the Board of Directors of the Lake County Watershed Protection District): a) Approve the agreement for fish and wildlife management and planning services, Task A, in the amount of $672,000, and authorize the chair to sign; and b) Approve the agreement for fish and wildlife management and planning services, Task B, in the amount of $476,000, and authorize the chair to sign.
