UPPER LAKE, Calif. – The Western Region Town Hall will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, March 18, when it will get an update on the development of a new county general plan and the area plans.
The meeting will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Habematolel community center, 9460 Main St.

On Wednesday, WRTH will get a visit from Shannon Walker-Smith of the Lake County Community Development Department, who will discuss the new Lake County General Plan and the local area plans.
The draft general plan and its environmental impact report are currently out for public review and can be found on its dedicated website.
Lisa Judd, deputy county administrative officer, also will speak to the group about the Prohousing Designation Program, which is a California Department of Housing and Community Development initiative.
The state reported that the program is meant to “reward local governments with additional funding to accelerate affordable housing production and preservation.”
Lake County is pursuing the designation. Community members can participate in a survey about the program here.
Under WRTH business, the group will consider action on its bylaws, the District 3 Super MAC attendance, work on Pyle Road, Upper Lake school traffic safety, the Upper Lake levees, and the Nice “COPTR” code enforcement effort.
There also will be discussion on the Upper Lake Grange and action on funding a community Easter egg hunt.
WRTH members are Chair Thomas Aceves, Vice Chair Tim Chiara and records keeper Linda Alexander, and members Lisa Benevides, David Eby and Claudine Pedroncelli.
The community is encouraged to attend.
