Community meetings planned for Lake County General Plan

By Lake County News Reports | Mar 27, 2026

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – During a series of upcoming meetings, community members will be invited to give their input on the draft of the new Lake County General Plan.

“Following more than two years of planning, dozens of community meetings, focus group discussions, multiple surveys and many more conversations with the community, the Draft Lake County 2050 General Plan is now available for public review,” Lake County Community Development said in an announcement on the project.

The plan can be found at its dedicated website. There, visitors can view and download the draft plan. From the “Documents” page, select “General Plan Documents” from the list, where you can find links to each chapter.

Once you’ve reviewed the Draft General Plan, please complete the survey to share your feedback. The online survey will be available through April 30.

Community Development officials said the draft plan contains policies and actions that will guide county decisions over the next 25 years on land use, housing, economic development, emergency operations and natural hazard planning, parks and open space, resource conservation, and more.

“We encourage you to explore the plan and see how it supports the priorities and goals shared by the community,” the agency said.

Throughout March and April, County staff are hosting a series of presentations about the Draft Lake County 2050 General Plan across the county.

These include:

• Community meetings hosted by municipal advisory committees across the eight planning areas.
• General Plan Advisory Committee, or GPAC, meetings held virtually and in the Lake County Board of Supervisors chambers at the courthouse in Lakeport.
• Local Area Plan Advisory Committee, or LAPAC, meetings held across the eight planning areas.

Upcoming meetings are scheduled as follows:

• East Region Town Hall: 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, Clearlake Oaks Moose Lodge, 15900 Moose Lodge Lane, off Highway 20.

• Central Region Town Hall: 6 p.m. Monday, April 13, Lucerne Alpine Senior Center, 3985 Country Club Drive.
