LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – After weeks of above-average seasonal temperatures, Lake County is expected to get some early spring rain next week.

In the run up to Easter, the National Weather Service said there are chances of rain beginning on Monday night and continuing through Thursday night.

The forecast is tracking a storm front that the National Weather Services said “is likely to approach the area Tuesday night into Wednesday with the potential for gusty ridgeline winds and a quick burst of moderate to heavy precipitation.”

The agency’s long-term forecast added, “Overall, rainfall this rain is expected to be generally beneficial to the region and impacts should be minimal. However, depending on the rain rates, isolated flooding of poor drainage areas could occur.”

There is also the chance of snow levels falling below 5,000 feet on Wednesday and down to
3,500 feet for northern areas of the region by Thursday morning.

Temperatures during Holy Week are expected to drop as the rain arrives, with nighttime temperatures dipping into the high 30s at night and the mid 50s during the day.
