LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The rainy weather of recent days is expected to begin to taper off as the new week gets started.

Storms have brought a bit more rain than originally anticipated since late last week.

The forecast originally indicated about an inch of rain would fall from Thursday through Saturday.

However, the National Weather Service’s observation network showed that rainfall totals in inches for the 72-hour period ending at 11:30 p.m. Sunday were as follows:

– Cobb Mountain: 3.60.
– Indian Valley Reservoir: 1.40.
– Kelseyville: 1.62.
– Knoxville Creek: 1.76.
– Lyons Valley: 1.42.
– Middletown: 2.05.
– Soda Creek (Lake Pillsbury): 1.73.
– Upper Lake: 1.25.

Beginning on Monday, forecasters expect the weather to clear for the coming week.

Daytime temperatures will climb from the high 50s on Monday to the low 70s by Saturday, with nighttime temperatures mostly remaining in the high 30s and reaching the low 40s by the weekend.
