NORTH COAST, Calif. – With summer fast approaching, Sen. Mike McGuire will host his annual town hall on wildfire preparedness, response and prevention, in partnership with Cal Fire and local districts at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 15.
Sen. McGuire will be joined by Cal Fire Northern Region Chief George Morris III, Santa Rosa Fire Chief Scott Westrope and Lake County Fire Protection District Chief Willie Sapeta to discuss the critical investments California has recently made to increase firefighting resources, better protect-at risk communities, and manage a hotter climate and 365-day fire season.
This interactive, virtual event will also provide a critical forecast into this year’s wildfire outlook, while detailing enhancements in wildfire response across the region, community response networks and the most effective steps that neighbors can take to prepare for wildfires this year.
The town hall will be livestreamed here. Questions can be submitted in advance through the event’s RSVP page.
McGuire represents the North Coast of California, which stretches from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Oregon border, including Del Norte, Trinity, Humboldt, Lake, Mendocino, Sonoma, and Marin counties.
