CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The Clearlake City Council this week will discuss awarding a bid for demolition of several structures around the city and discuss accepting a policy for the use of the city's seal and its recently adopted logo.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in the council chambers at Clearlake City Hall, 14050 Olympic Drive.
At the start of the meeting, the council will present proclamations declaring November 2016 as Hospice and Palliative Care Month and Native American Heritage Month.
There also will be presentations of certificates of appreciation to the city's annual Trick or Treat Bash contributors and a presentation by Dave Hubbard of Toys for Tots.
In council business, the council will discuss awarding a bid to Geocon Consultants Inc. for $4,975 – with the city manager to be able to approve change orders totaling up to 10 percent of the contract – for a comprehensive asbestos survey and report in preparation for demolition of structures at 5827 Crawford Ave., 3114 Eighth St., 2944 Fifth St., 3373 11th St. and 13940 Manakee Ave.
The funds for the bid come from a $160,645 grant the city received from CalRecycle for building demolition, about half of which already has been spent on similar projects, according to City Manager Greg Folsom.
Also on Thursday, Folsom will take to the council a request to approve a policy for use of the city seal and logo.
Folsom's report for the meeting explained that the city currently doesn't have a policy regarding use of the city logo and seal other than Section 3.7 of the city's Norms and Procedures manual.
On the meeting's consent agenda – items considered noncontroversial and usually accepted as a slate on one vote – are warrant registers; minutes of the Sept. 8, 22 and 26 council meetings; minutes of the Oct. 12 Lake County Vector Control District Board meeting; and consideration of a job description for kennel technician.
