LAKEPORT, Calif. – Late on a busy election night the Lake County Registrar of Voters Office released the first election ballot count, this one for a portion of the absentee ballots.
Registrar of Voters Diane Fridley and her team began counting absentees turned into her office early on Oct. 20, as Lake County News has reported.
The early count was released shortly before 11 p.m. Fridley said the delay was due, in large part, to difficulties in processing the absentee ballots because of conditions such as creasing or tears.
