MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – As it holds its last meeting of 2016, the Middletown Area Town Hall this week will welcome nominations for its board, and get updates on highway and community gardening projects.
MATH will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at the Middletown Community Center, 21256 Washington St.
Meetings are open to the community.
At its November meeting, the group began taking nominations for the MATH Board, a process which Chair Fletcher Thornton said will continue at the Thursday meeting.
MATH also will get an update and map of the $12.5 million project to make safety improvements along a 2.5-mile stretch of Highway 175
Caltrans representative Jaime Matteoli gave a presentation about the project last month, and Caltrans held a community open house about it on Dec. 1, as Lake County News has reported.
At the Thursday meeting the group also will hold a discussion on the Middletown Area Plan update, and get updates on the Cobb Area Council that has formed and the community gardens project at Calpine.
The MATH Board includes Chair Fletcher Thornton, Vice Chair Claude Brown, Secretary Margaret Greenley, and members Linda Diehl-Darms and Gregg Van Oss.
MATH – established by resolution of the Lake County Board of Supervisors on Dec. 12, 2006 – is a municipal advisory council serving the residents of Anderson Springs, Cobb, Coyote Valley (including Hidden Valley Lake), Long Valley and Middletown.
Meetings are subject to videotaping.
