Lucerne Alpine Senior Center hosts Father’s Day dinner, movie and dance

LUCERNE, Calif. – The Lucerne Alpine Senior Center will hold a father’s day dinner, movie and dance on Sunday, June 17.

The event will take place from 5 to 10 p.m. at the center, located at 10th and Country Club Drive.

Doors open at 5 p.m.

Admission is $10 per person.

There will be a no-host bar featuring wine and beer and dessert table, and raffles for prizes.

From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. there will be a barbecue soul food dinner, which costs $12 for adults and $9 for fathers and children.

At 6 p.m. there will be an exclusive screening in the Rose Room of the 90-minute documentary, “Every Beat of My Heart: the Johnny Otis Story." A question and answer session will follow.

At 8 p.m. there will be music, dancing and an open jam with Lucky Otis – Johnny Otis’ grandson – and friends playing blues, jazz, funk and R&B.

Proceeds to benefit the Lucerne Senior Center.
