Basilia Rojas
November 27, 1932 - October 28, 2013

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – Basilia Rojas died on Oct. 28, 2013. She was 80 years old.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Primitivo Rojas; three sons, Roberto (Yuki), Raul (Renee), and Tivo (Ann); and five grandchildren.

Basilia was completely dedicated to loving her family, creating community, and giving to friends and strangers.

There is no stranger to Basilia, after several minutes she would become a friend.

She will always be remembered for her optimism, her faith in God and her love of all people. She was a timeless community builder and always took the side of justice for others.

She was the greatest of cooks, and had legendary sopitos. She crocheted endlessly, and was an artist of life. She is also a wondrous story teller and talker.

We will miss her jokes, stories, and hot spicy and amazing chili.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 N. High St., Lakeport.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 4085 Main St. in Kelseyville.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Kenneth “Jocko” Grimsley entered into rest on Sept. 17, 2013.

If he wasn't at the trap shoot on Sundays he might have been at Yuba College in the welding class, where he was a teacher's aide, and he would happily give advice to students in need.

In his free time he loved to go to the Feather River to mine for gold.

He had a love for life, family and friends.

He leaves behind his three children, Tammy, Kelly and Walter; as well as his grandchildren, Brenden, Rebecca and Wyatt.

His family invites his friends to join them in remembering and celebrating his life at the Brick Hall, 16374 Main St. in Lower Lake, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23.
