Dr. Marie "Patsy" Crail died Jan. 9, 2020, following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 17, 1929, in Lakeport, California, to Julian Sebastian Mostin and Lillian Larsen Mostin of Kelseyville.
Marie attended Kelseyville and Lakeport schools and graduated from Clear Lake Union High School in Lakeport in 1946.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Stanford University in 1950 and a doctor of internal medicine degree in 1955 from Stanford Medical School.
Marie is survived by her two sons, Hans Halleck Crail (Kathy) of Chula Vista, California, and Lars Crail (Maile Field) of Oakton, Virginia; and four grandchildren: Erika (Mathias Crawford), Karl, Chauncey and Seth.
She is also survived by siblings Raymond Mostin of Kelseyville and Nancy Bleasdale of Scottsdale, Arizona.
She is predeceased by husbands Howard Whitfield Crail, Kermit Meyer and Hartford Smith.
Marie practiced medicine from 1955 to 2000 in San Francisco; at the Veterans Home of California in Yountville; and in Clearlake Oaks. In 2013 she moved to Chula Vista, California, to be closer to her children.
Marie was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, served on the Konocti Unified School District Board of Trustees and was a member of Eastern Star.
Marie traveled to remote areas of northern Mexico most winters where she treated native tribes of Seri Indians.
She enjoyed playing the piano, bird hunting, traveling throughout the United States and northern Mexico. She loved dogs.
A private celebration of life will be held in Lake County in April.

Alice Susan Humann
Aug. 15, 1932 – Jan. 10, 2020
LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Alice "Susan" Humann was born in Charleston, West Virginia in 1932.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 38 years, Ron Humann; her three sons, Derek Crews, Phil Crews and Curt Crews; and daughter, Cherie Crews.
She is dearly loved and greatly missed.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Barbara Ruth Salko passed away peacefully on Dec. 28, 2019.
Barbara was born on Jan. 4, 1930, in Kansas.
As a youngster, Barbara's family including two brothers and her sister moved to Comptche, where she attended Mendocino High School.
After high school, Barbara married Ted Layton and later moved to Lakeport, where they raised their three children.
Barbara received her LVN degree and spent years caring for others continuing to work into her early 80s.
Barbara is predeceased by her first husband, Ted; her second husband, Steve Salko; her two brothers and sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Tim) Garrison of Santa Maria; sons, Dennis (Gail) and Alan (Sue) Layton of Lakeport; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Barbara loved camping, gardening, sewing, caring for others and especially her loving family.
At her request, no services will be performed. The family would like to recognize Kelly Wilkinson and Rocky Point Care Center for their kindness and excellent care.
