LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Benjamin Silva, 90, fell asleep in death on Monday, Oct. 21, 2019.
Ben was born in South San Francisco on July 29, 1929.
He married Jeanette in 1957.
Ben owned his own business as a drywall contractor in the Bay Area and continued to work into his 70s.
He and Jeanette moved to Lakeport in 1999 to be near their son after Jeanette suffered a stroke.
Ben was a proud graduate of South San Francisco High School, where he played on the football team.
His love of sports continued throughout his life, and he enjoyed watching football and baseball on television, and could often be heard yelling at the TV when there was a call he didn’t agree with.
Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses at a young age, Ben remained faithful to his belief in the resurrection and hope of life everlasting on earth, even enduring imprisonment for his faith.
Ben is survived by his son, James Silva and his wife Tonia of Lakeport; and his daughter, Nicole Wood and her husband James of San Mateo; as well as a large extended family and his family in the Faith.
Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette, two brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be held on Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Ackley road in Lakeport.
