LAKEPORT, Calif – The Lake County First 5 Lake Commission will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

The meeting will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the Child Welfare Services Conference Room, 1222 S. Main St. in Lakeport.

Agenda items include the 2013-14 First 5 Lake Annual Evaluation Report, and public hearings to consider approval of the 2013-14 Annual First 5 Lake data submittal to First 5 California and to consider approval of First 5 Lake’s 2013-14 annual audit.

Also on the agenda are the executive director's report, commissioners' reports, public comment and announcements.

The board also will discuss a request from Executive Director Tom Jordan for a leave of absence from March 1 to April 30, 2015.

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The Clearlake Planning Commission’s regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 21, has been canceled.

The commission is next scheduled to meet in November in the council chambers at Clearlake City Hall, 14050 Olympic Drive.

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – Quality craft vendors are being sought for the seventh annual Christmas Craft Show in Middletown.

The Middletown Lioness Club will host the event at the Lions Community Building on Central Park Road Nov. 21 and 22.

Vendors are selected on a first-come, first-chosen basis.

The cost is $35, which includes both days.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 4 Statewide General Election is Monday, Oct. 20, at 11:59 p.m.

New voters have until midnight on Monday to register to vote, which can be completed online at www.registertovote.ca.gov .

Paper registration forms can be obtained at most post offices, libraries and city halls throughout California.

NORTH COAST, Calif. – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around the North Coast during the coming week.

Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.

MENDOCINO COUNTY
 
Highway 1

– PG&E has been issued a Caltrans encroachment permit for tree work from 1.3 miles south of the Elk Creek Bridge to Fort Bragg beginning Monday, Oct. 20. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
 
– Replacement of the Greenwood Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
 
– Bridge rehabilitation at various location from the Noyo River Bridge to the DeHaven Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 20
 
– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from Gravel Pit Road to Chamberlain Creek. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
 
– Culvert rehabilitation at various locations from just west of Two Rock Lookout to Willits Cemetery Road will continue. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
 
Highway 101

– Caltrans will perform slide repairs near the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge (near Frog Woman Rock). Northbound traffic will be restricted to one lane 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.
 
– Highway construction 1.0 mile south of the Haehl Overhead Bridge to the Haehl Overhead Bridge will continue. Intermittent one-way traffic control will be in effect from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays. A long-term detour is in place with a 20 miles per hour advisory speed. Motorists are urged to drive with caution and will experience minor traffic slowdowns.
 
– Bridge rehabilitation at the Arnold Bridge Overhead will continue. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m., weekdays. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.
 
– Pavement repairs from the Elizabeth Jane Rosewarne Memorial Bridge to Piercy will continue. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekdays. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

Highway 128
 
– Culvert rehabilitation at various locations from Philo to the Mendocino/Sonoma County line will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
 
– Pavement repairs from Philo School Road to Road 150B will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
 
Highway 253

– Culvert rehabilitation at various locations from the Soda Creek Bridge to Butler Ranch will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
 
The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.
