LAKEPORT, Calif. – A public healing service will be held this Sunday, June 1, at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Lakeport.
This service is based on the ancient practice of prayer, laying on of hands and anointing with blessed oil handed down from the time of Jesus and the apostles.
“I find St. John’s healing services uplifting and comforting, and wondered how many people in Lake County need and would welcome such a service,” said Kelseyville resident Ray Farrow.
Hearing this feedback, the church leaders decided to expand the experience to the broader community.
“I'm very excited about getting this off the ground, as it’s very timely, not only in our own parish, but the wider community and the world,” said Parish Priest Fr. Leo M. Joseph.
Ironically, Fr. Leo recently celebrated 40 years of ministry despite increasing disability from an incurable cancer.
Lake County Hospice’s loving care enables him to continue to minister to devoted and appreciative parishioners.
Following the healing service, Fr. Leo will celebrate Holy Communion for the Sunday after the Ascension of Jesus.
All who seek healing of mind, heart, and body are welcome to participate in this quarterly service.
