Lakeport Christian Center hosts talk by former CHP sergeant

LAKEPORT, Calif. — On Sunday, Nov. 14, former Clear Lake California Highway Patrol Sgt. Dave Stark will be the featured speaker in the 10:30 a.m. worship service at Lakeport Christian Center.

Stark is a powerful and inspirational speaker. The public will want to attend.

Everyone is welcome. Kid’s church is available during the service.

There will also be a holiday potluck dinner at noon.

Lakeport Christian Center is located near the fairgrounds at 455 S. Forbes St.

Lakeport Community SDA Church to host First Amendment update Oct. 9

LAKEPORT, Calif. — On Sabbath Oct. 9, Lakeport Community Seventh-day Adventist Church will host speaker Alan J. Reinach, Esq. of the Church State Council during its service.

Reinach will discuss “Liberty and Justice Considered, a First Amendment Update” during the 11 a.m. service and will lead a seminar at 2 p.m.

The churches around the lake have been invited to join the events.

During the afternoon meeting Bettina Krause, editor of Religious Liberty, will join via Zoom.

There will be a potluck between the worship service and afternoon event.

Lakeport Community Seventh-day Adventist is located at 1111 Park Way.

Community Methodist Church of Clearlake Oaks rolls out ‘Operation Cotton Tail’

CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif. – The Community Methodist Church of Clearlake Oaks reported that its children’s Easter outreach is underway.

“Operation Cotton Tail” this year has a goal of 250 Easter baskets for children in the community.

Last year, the church served more than 120 children in the Oaks with Easter baskets and a visit with the Easter Bunny.

The church is seeking the community’s support for this effort.

All gifts are 100-percent tax-deductible and are sincerely appreciated.

Tamale sale to benefit Queen of Peace Church

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Clearlake is holding a tamale sale to help cover expenses during the pandemic.

With no church services and no collections, Father Adam Kotas said the sale is necessary to help pay the bills.

Tamales are available in chicken, pork or vegetarian.

The price is $25 per dozen.
