Wine & Beer makers, vendors sought for Symphony Winefest 2026

LAKEPORT, Calif. — The Lake County Symphony Wine Club is now accepting applications from home wine and beer makers, and food and crafts vendors for Winefest 2026.

This family-friendly event is a fund raiser for the Lake County Symphony and takes place June 13 from noon to 5 p.m. at Library Park in Lakeport.

As it has in past decades, Winefest features a variety of artwork, crafts, clothing and agricultural products for sale at booths. 

Commercial and amateur wine and beer makers will offer samples of their products to those purchasing a “tasting ticket.” 

General admission is free.

Vendors and wine and beer makers are urged to register early to ensure a spot.

Golden State Water provides donation to support homeless community in Clearlake

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Golden State Water Co. recently donated to the Hope Center to help individuals experiencing homelessness in the Clearlake community. 

Operated by Adventist Health Clear Lake, the Hope Center is a vital resource for residents, offering housing assistance and support services to those in need.

Golden State Water provided the Hope Center with a $2,400 donation, along with an additional $400 to support meals during the holiday season.

The donation will support the Hope Center’s ongoing operations, including meals, warm bedding and essential items to assist the homeless community in Clearlake. 

The Hope Center’s mission is centered on improving health, fostering self-sufficiency, helping individuals find employment and transitioning into sustainable housing.

“We are tremendously grateful for Golden State Water’s donation to support those experiencing homelessness in Clearlake,” said Faith Hornby, philanthropy manager at Adventist Health Clear Lake. “This will allow us to continue providing critical resources for vulnerable individuals to begin the new year with comfort and stability.”

Golden State Water is proud to partner with organizations like the Hope Center to strengthen local communities.

Valentine See's Candies sales benefit community needs

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Delta Iota Tau, Lakeport chapter of Beta Sigma Phi originated in 1954.  

The group exists to serve our Lake County communities, said chapter President Dana Kearney.

For over three decades, Northlake Medical Pharmacy on Lakeport Boulevard has donated space throughout the year for the chapter’s See's Candies sales. Bruno’s Shop Smart has also donated space for over 30 years to help the fundraising efforts.  

Delta Iota Tau is very grateful and appreciative of these locally owned businesses for their assistance.

From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, through Saturday, Feb. 14, Bruno’s customers may purchase their Valentine See's Candies at the Delta Iota Tau table until they run out.

Delta Iota Tau’s 2025 community donations of $18,040, which represent the profits from their fundraising efforts, went to the following organizations and causes:

• Senior high school scholarships; 
• Lady Luck Garage – Kelseyville School Program;
• Kelseyville High School Music Programs;      
• Clearlake High School Music Program; 
• Every 15 Minutes Program; 
• Hospice – Wings of Hope; 
• Operation Tango Mike; 
• Sponsoring Survivorship; 
• We Serve Veterans – Lake County; 
• Wreaths Across America; 
• Soper Reese Theatre; 
• Knights of Columbus – Senior Gifts; 
• National Child and Senior Safety Council; 
• Open Arms, coats for the needy. 

Everyone who purchases their Valentines See's Candies through Northlake Medical Pharmacy and Bruno’s Shop Smart will donate to a long variety of entities like those listed above.

Delta Iota Tau thanks their generous community for continuing to support our fundraising efforts and the many causes that make Lake County a caring place to live.

Registrar reports on dates for submitting arguments for and against ballot measures

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — The Lake County Registrar of Voters is giving notice of the deadlines to file arguments for and/or against all county, school or district measures posted on the Lake County Registrar of Voters webpage that will be printed on the June 2, 2026, Statewide Direct Primary Election.

The deadline to file direct arguments is Tuesday, March 17.

The deadline to file rebuttal arguments — only if opposing arguments are filed — is Tuesday, March 24.

Directions for the arguments and rebuttals are as follows:

• No argument shall exceed 300 words in length.
• Arguments shall be titled either “Argument In Favor Of Measure ___” or “Argument Against Measure ___.”
• No more than five signatures shall appear with any argument.
• All arguments must be accompanied by the “Statement That Argument Is True And Correct” as required by Section 9600 of the CA Elections Code.
• Arguments must be typed and formatted in block paragraph style.
• Limited use of bolding, CAPITALIZING, underlining, italics, center text, and bullets (small solid circle only) are permitted.
• Do not use profanity or other objectionable language.
• Arguments must be filed with the Lake County Registrar of Voters.

Only one argument in favor of and one argument against a measure shall be selected for printing and distribution with the sample ballots. 

The Registrar of Voters will notify the author, or authors, of selected arguments in writing.

• Rebuttal arguments shall not exceed 250 words in length.
• Rebuttal arguments shall be titled either “Rebuttal To Argument In Favor of Measure ___” or “Rebuttal To Argument Against Measure ___.” 
• Rebuttal arguments can be signed by five or fewer people.

Officials ask that submitters be accurate as arguments will be printed exactly as submitted; spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors will not be corrected by the Registrar of Voters Office.

Interested persons are advised to contact the Registrar of Voters office at 707-263-2372 prior to the filing deadline of March 6 for required forms, additional information and guidelines.
