LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Lake County Animal Care and Control has a new group of dogs waiting to go to new families.

In a one-of-a-kind experiment led by UC Berkeley researchers, biologists in Europe, the Middle East and U.S. planted 360 small plots of Arabidopsis (above) in various types of climates — from alpine to desert — and left them for five years to evolve or die. LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – A traffic collision is believed to have caused a late night power outage in the Lakeport and Kelseyville areas.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – On Tuesday, April 7, the Lake County Board of Supervisors formally appointed Roy Arthur Blodgett as the 13th Poet Laureate of Lake County for 2026-2028.

WEST SACRAMENTO – After six months of rigorous training and more than 1,275 hours of instruction, 133 cadets proudly graduated on Friday from the California Highway Patrol Academy in West Sacramento during a swearing-in and badge pinning ceremony.
