Beth Rutiger, a 14-year Jazzercise instructor, will demonstrate movements to de-stress your body and lighten your mood.
Rutiger started the first Jazzercise classes in Lake County and now teaches classes for various fitness levels in Hidden Valley Lake and Middletown.
Arlene Taylor, PhD, a brain guru from Napa County's St. Helena Hospital, will identify key factors that lead to stressful holiday events and discuss strategies to eliminate stressors effectively.
The seminar is Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hidden Valley Lake Country Club, 18766 Lake Ridge Circle. Comfortable clothes are recommended for the Jazzercise portion.

Women interested in receiving a free mammogram must first call toll-free 800-511-2300 to see if they qualify for the State’s Every Women Counts program (see program description below).
Those who do not qualify for Every Women Counts must meet the following criteria:
40 years or older;
Require a screening mammogram only;
Must not have breast implants;
Must not have received a recent biopsy or breast surgery;
Received their last mammogram at least one year ago;
Must be uninsured or have a high-deductible insurance plan;
Must not be nursing (breastfeeding);
Must have a physician referral or be referred to Sutter Lakeside’s Family Medicine Clinic or Upper Lake Clinic (any follow-up care required will not be included with the free mammogram).
Women who meet these criteria can call 262-5030 to schedule their mammogram.
Every Woman Counts is a cancer detection program of the California Department of Public Health that provides California's medically underserved women access to screening and diagnostic services for breast and cervical cancer.
Eligibility includes women who:
Are age 40 or over for breast cancer screening;
Are age 25 or over for cervical cancer screening;
Live in California;
Have income at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level;
Have medical insurance that does not cover these screening exams;
Have a high insurance deductible or co-payment they cannot afford;
Do not have access to these screening exams through Medi-Cal or another government-sponsored program.

LAKE COUNTY – Events of the world got you feeling frazzled?
Current methods of dealing with stress not working?
Want to make a change but don’t know how or where to start?
Sutter Lakeside Hospital and Center for Health invites you to attend the next session of the Stress Reduction and Relaxation Clinic beginning Tuesday, Nov. 4.
In this eight-week intensive, participants learn new patterns of response to stress and how to transition from being highly reactive to life events, to learning how to respond with calmness. In the small group classroom environment, participants gain support and learn from each other and the curriculum.
Participants will take a Health Risk Assessment and general wellness inventory to assess their current state of mental, emotional and physical well-being.
Through the use of diaphragmatic breathing, progressive relaxation, mindful meditation, gentle movement yoga and other strategies, participants will learn how to consciously and healthily cope with life stress.
The program begins Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and meets twice-a-week for eight weeks.
The program instructor will be Leslie Lovejoy, RN, Ph.D. Lovejoy has worked in the wellness, self-help and healthcare field for over 30 years. An educator, wellness coach, and Reiki Master, Lovejoy helps individuals access their self healing potential and return to a life of balance and harmony.

CLEARLAKE – Corey Warner, MD, has joined Hidden Valley Medical Services as the full-time internal medicine doctor, serving Hidden Valley Lake and south Lake County.
He is board certified and specializes in the full spectrum of adult medicine.
Dr. Warner and his wife, Amber, moved to Hidden Valley Lake from Danville, Ill., where he practiced at the Carle Clinic Association and Provena United Samaritans Medical Center. They enjoy golf, volunteer work, church and spending time with family, including their three-year old “puppy” Dooney.
The doctor was active in the Danville community where he served on the Boys and Girls Club board and was a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters for seven years.
“Dr. Warner’s arrival represents our ongoing commitment to bring the community a broad range of services provided by top health care professionals,” said JoAline Olson, president and chief executive officer of St. Helena Hospital, which operates Hidden Valley Medical Services. “His distinguished professional record, caring manner and commitment to his community reflect the high standards shared by our physicians.”
Warner received his medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University and completed his residency in internal medicine at Legacy Emanuel Hospital and Health Center, both in Portland.
