HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE, Calif. – The HVL Men's Niners Golf Club continued with match play and sweeps competitions on Aug. 12.
Fourteen competitors remain in the hunt for club champion in match play.
The sweep results were:
Purple flight: Stan Kalata was first at net 31, while John Jones, Randy Brown, and Tom Gibbs tied for second with 34.
Gold flight: Mason Butler finished with 32, and Mike Casolo and Byron Hoss tied at 34.
Closest to the par 3 pins were Brian Panizzera and Stan Kalata.
Chip-ins were scored Ron Clark (twice), Carl Dennis, Byron Hoss and Stan Kalata.
Fifty one men participated in the day's events.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Junior Ranger program for children ages 7 through 12 will continue Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. through Sept. 4, at Clear Lake State Park, 5300 Soda Bay Road, Kelseyville.
There is no pre-enrollment or cost for participation.
Children should arrive at the visitor center auditorium by 10 a.m. for each session.
The summer session began in July and has already given 212 children exciting nature experiences in the park.
Lake County parents are encouraged to bring their children to the park to join with children of park visitors for this fun way to learn about the natural world in a setting not available in ordinary classrooms.
Each day participants will explore Lake County’s extraordinary natural and cultural resources. Daily programs vary.
As children discover the wonders of their local environment, they will earn awards for their accomplishments. They also will get a peek at what state park rangers have to know to protect our beautiful state parks.

The visitor center will open from noon to 2 p.m. each Friday following the Junior Ranger program. Saturday and Sunday visitor center open hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the summer.
Volunteers operate the visitor center and assist with programs. Members of the community are encouraged to participate in park activities by becoming volunteers. Additional volunteers are needed.
