First Baptist Church of Upper Lake to hold Christmas Eve service

UPPER LAKE, Calif. – The First Baptist Church of Upper Lake invites the Upper Lake Community and all else who wish to participate in a unity candlelight service at 5:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24.


The service is about hope, expectation and unity.

Community invited to Galilee Lutheran Church Christmas Eve service

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – Galilee Lutheran Church will hold its annual candlelight service at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24.


The service will tell the Christmas story through prophesy, gospel readings and music. Communion will be served.


Everyone is invited and welcomed to join this friendly congregation for the candlelight service.


There will be no worship Christmas day.


Galilee Lutheran Church is located at 8860 Soda Bay Road, Kelseyville.

Unitarian Universalist Church plans Christmas music service

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The service at the Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County (UUCLC) on Sunday, Dec. 25, will be a special music service.


The service begins at 11 a.m. at the Kelseyville United Methodist Church at First and Main streets in Kelseyville.


Through music, this Christmas service will explore the origins of Christmas as a festive celebration of light and hope throughout the ages. The UUCLC choir will present a special song.


All are welcome to attend this service to share in singing and celebrating the holiday.


The UUCLC now shares space with the Methodists, with each church holding its own service on Sundays – Methodists at 9 a.m. and UUCLC at 11 a.m.

Clearlake Nazarenes host 'Saint to Santa' one-man show Dec. 23

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Every child, sooner or later, asks the inevitable question, “Is there really a Santa Claus?”


Reverend Joey Condon is prepared to enlighten and entertain the entire family with an answer encrusted by centuries of legends and lore, jingles and hype.


This presentation has assisted both parent and child alike to find answers to one of life’s most important childhood queries.


The Clearlake Church of the Nazarene will host “From Saint to Santa,” a successful 45-minute, original, one-man live performance that traces the epic journey of a real man, Saint Nicholas.


The performance will take place beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at the Clearlake Church of the Nazarene, 15917 Olympic Drive, Clearlake.


Admission is free, however an offering will be requested.


In a very enlightening, educating and entertaining manner, this performance presents a very special historic message of joy and laughter, hope, love and dedication that is the ministry of Saint Nicholas, and renews the spirit and delight of Christmas in all of us.


Playwright/pastor Joey Condon is an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene and serves the church as its first chaplain of the artistic community.


Pastor Condon holds a master of divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary and a master's degree in playwriting from the University of Missouri in Kansas City.


With several produced works to his credit, a veteran performer with Six Flags Theme Parks and national tours, he is adjunct professor of theater at MidAmerica Nazarene University and co-pastor of Kansas City’s Grace Church of the Nazarene.


For two decades, “From Saint to Santa” has averaged more than 20 live performances a year during the Christmas season in more than 30 states.
