MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – What do you get when you combine a nationally recognized gospel music singer who is also one of the finest emcees in Gospel music, a home schooled piano playing genius and the great grandson to one of the founding fathers of Blackwood Brothers Quartet? The Blackwood Legacy.

This Blackwood Legacy, comprised of Rick Price, Luke Yates and Daniel Childs, is one of the most successful and hardest working gospel music groups today.

On tour more than 250 dates per year, this group truly demonstrate the love of God through their music, ministry and testimonies.

This awardwinning group will be presenting a special concert on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 7 p.m. at Middletown Community United Methodist Church.

Admission is free and a love offering will be received.

Built on the legendary music of the Grammy and Dove award winning group, Blackwood Brothers Quartet, Rick Price and Chris Blackwood formed the Blackwood Legacy as a tribute to them.

The Blackwood Legacy was recently signed to Mansion Records, and will be soon releasing their first album under the new label.

Inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame with the Blackwood Brothers, Price has over 30 years of gospel music under his belt.

Believing "the road to the future is paved with memories of the past," and recognizing the need to reach audiences of all ages, Price has gathered some of the finest musicians on the Gospel scene today.

He is joined by Luke Yates, a gifted pianist and amazing vocalist originally from the Spokane, Washington area, and Daniel Childs, the great-grandson to Blackwood Brothers founding father Roy Blackwood, and a well-known musician and singer in his own right.

So get ready to have your soul blessed and your spirits lifted and join us at the Middletown Community United Methodist Church on Jan. 10, 2012, at 7 p.m.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Children’s Choir at United Christian Parish (UCP), fondly called iSing, rocked the house in their first two performances of the season.

First the children shared their music with the Buckingham Ladies at their annual Christmas celebration and then chose two of their favorites songs to perform in the 26th annual Festival of Music.

With only one more scheduled performance that includes both the music and a play, the public is invited to join them Sunday, Dec. 11, at 10 a.m.

This performance is no charge but a free will offering will be taken.

The seven songs are part of a musical called “Shepherds, Sheep and a Savior” a comical look at how the lowest of low (shepherds!) got invited into the greatest story ever told.

It is at times funny but the children do a fantastic job of keeping the story, performance and fun in balance for a really fine finished production.

The singers and actors range from kindergarten to sixth grade and have been practicing since October.

As a special feature this week, before and after the play, which is offered during the normally scheduled service at UCP Sunday morning, Belles With Bells will get the community into the spirit of things with several beautifully played songs on the English Hand bells.

UCP is located at 745 N Brush St in Lakeport.

For more information call 707-263-4788 or visit www.LakeportUCP.org.
