KELSEYVILLE – On Sunday, Aug. 1, the Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County will host a speaker who is the president of the board of trustees of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Santa Rosa.

Andrew Hidas will speak on the topic of “Sacred Space.”

He will discuss whether sacred space has a geographical address or is only a state of mind.

Hidas will examine how sacred space differs from ordinary space. He says sacred space is a concept that is difficult to define, yet “speaks to us in all places where we are struck with a sense of sanctity, depth and reverence.”

Hidas is founder of Bridge Communications & Consulting in Santa Rosa. He holds degrees in political science, psychology and theology.

Services of the Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County are held at 10 a.m. at the Kelseyville Senior Center, 5245 Third St. A children’s religious education program takes place during the service.

The Unitarian Universalist denomination encourages each person to seek his or her own spiritual path, using reason and conscience.
